Why America is world most powerful country

A nation becomes a Superpower due to several factors and not just a few great aspects.

Militarily: The most powerful nation on the face of this earth. They have the most nuclear weapons in the world after Russia(currently, around 7000). They have the biggest Army in the world with over 1.4 million personnel after China which has nearly 2 million personnel. The military budget is 6 times more than the third ranked China at $600 billion an year.[1]

Economy:

  • GDP: USA is the largest economy in the world. It stands at a whopping $18 trillion(nominal) and just second to China on the PPP standard.[2]
  • FDI: US is by far the biggest economy and attracts huge investments from all over the world. Its FDI stands at $180 billion presently.

Entrepreneur Culture: USA is still the best country in the world to receive funds for the Startups. Silicon Valley is the prime example of it. Silicon Valley and California’s contribution is such big that California has bigger GDP than that of France. Silicon Valley based out in the suburbs of San Francisco, is home to the biggest tech companies in the world like Google, Facebook, Apple, LinkedIn and Quora.

The America Dream: The dream to change your life and live life with all the material benefits, USA is still the most sought after nation. Immigrants come here for work, they work hard and USA recognizes their contribution by providing them Green Cards and which often leads to citizenship.

No Close competitors: China and India are trying their best to latch onto the coveted position of a Superpower. However, there are challenges that is stifling their growth at this moment. China’s constant devaluation tactics and unnecessary spending in infrastructure halts their growth that could make them a world power in the coming years. India, although growing at a rapid rate, has many challenges to overcome. For example, almost 70% of the Indian population is under poverty, how will you bring this population to the forefront so they can contribute in building the economy is the real question that stands in front of India at this moment.

Strong Infrastructure: USA still has, overall, a great infrastructure so as to attract people and businesses to stay. Go to any part of USA and you will find the same kind of roads, traffic rules and the support for drivers. The downtown of all the American cities are still the most sought after places for businesses to setup their businesses and for people to build their dreams to come and work at.

Cultural Fabric: As a democratic nation, USA accepts all religions and races to come and work. Apart from some really heinous acts of crime, USA is still the most peaceful and sought after location for families to settle down.

Natural Resources: USA has lots of natural resources from natural gas, coal, gold, and much more. USA is the 3rd largest producer of coal in the world. 27% of the world’s coal comes from here. The soil at most of the locations in USA is very fertile and hence USA doesn’t have to depend on any country to import major food products.
